Dog Bite Prevention Week

As Dog Bite Prevention Week comes to a close I am posting some informative videos and PSAs to help you reduce the likelihood of being bit.  Please share with all the children in your life, your own, your relatives, and your friends.  If you are a teacher or in the education field, please talk to your administrators about setting up a presentation in your school.  This is soooo important!

State Farm PSA on Dog Bite Prevention!

State Farm does not judge the breed.  They acknowledge that any dog can bite under certain circumstances.  Thank you State Farm for being a voice of reason in an otherwise prejudice world.

Calming Cap for Anxious Dogs

I was a little skeptical at first, but this product really works!  Premier's Calming Cap is a spandex material cap that fits over the muzzle and covers the eyes with a "screen" of which the dog can still see through, but with a limited perspective.

It attaches to the collar both under the chin & behind the head.  It is comfortable, light weight and Tucker did not seem to mind wearing it at all.

I put it on him to block his view of everything that sets him off outside of the car on the way to the vet on Saturday.  My hope was that he would be less "revved up" at the vets if he had a relaxing car ride there.  He did great in the car.  Did not react once (which has never happened) and he even laid down for most of the ride.  He never fussed with the cap or tried to take it off.

Having a Chevy Tahoe with Tucker in the far back and me driving it is very difficult to prevent or interupt his reactive behavior.  I am in LOVE with this product!

You can purchase it from Cherrybrook Pet Products  as I did for only $12.74!

Dog Training Philosophy

My Photo
I train dogs using positive reinforcement training to modify unwanted behaviors. I step outside the traditional training box and use essential oils and flower essences to assist in my behavior modification regime when it comes to dogs plagued with fear & anxiety as well as aggression. My philosophy is to heal the dog's mind, body and spirit, not just to rid the dog of unacceptable behaviors. For more information you can email me at holisticbehaviorsolutions@gmail.com.
